So, we know- you bought it last year and you had NOTHING but troubles and tribulations. We know, believe us, we know. So we understand everyone's trepidation this time around: 'It leaked all over the place!', 'It never worked right', "It almost caught fire!' (ok, that last one isn't true, but yaknow how it is).

But, truth be told, we knew there was an issue, and we did our part to help; not only our customers, but also Chauvet.

Enter the new, radically improved HURRICANE HAZE 2. Same as the last one, with one critical difference: IT WORKS PHENOMENALLY.

So what changed between now and then? Well, a whole lotta testing for one; two, trying to wriggle out of the testing results the reason WHY it was doing what it was doing. And finally, implementing the changes.

In the end, like most things, it's the devil in the details that needs to be exorcised (they're so lazy in Hell); let it be heard and let it be spread far and wide: FLUID QUALITY COUNTS. It truly does matter what you put in the tank!

Since it's release, we've eagerly awaited it's arrival in hopes that it would prove to be true- fixed and rarin' to get out there! And it has performed perfectly, not a complaint or return in sight (for us, anyway).

So, do you need a Hazer? Well, here's the bottom line: PHYSICS. It's pure SCIENCE, baby; it's all about having something in the air for the light particles to bounce off of and into the eyeballs- without that, ya gots nothing, homie. Seriously, you spent how much? and yeah, ok, you can see some blinky lights and wash, but that's about it.

And since you can't smoke in clubs or bars anymore (dangit), you either have to hope everyone is sweatin' bullets or you use a lotta grease in the kitchen to have anything in the air to bounce light particles off. A good hazer can take your lights from just mundane to DYN-O-MITE! And at under $300, it's the most affordable mid-range DMX-capable Hazer on the market!

You couldn't ask for a better, economical yet powerful hazer for the money- it's that good. Water-based means never having to say, 'RESIDUE- ick!', and is less expensive than the other alternatives (not to mention a whole lot safer and easier to use!). Some venues won't allow hazers, so be sure to check first, but just about every lighting set-up will benefit from having this little box that can make ALL the difference.

We are now SHURE, RANE, JBL, QSC, SKB, ODYSSEY and DENON DJ dealers!

Tired of dealing with "Big Box Boyz" who know little to nothing about they're selling and only care about the discount they get for working there and could care less about what you want and need? Or worse, smaller dealers that never seem to either have the incentive or wherewithal to stock products or even answer the phone (or even open their dang doors on a consistent basis?)

Then come see what all the buzz, the tell-me-what's-a-happenin' is all about! BHE believes not only in customer service, but also in great deals (for you and us!) and long-term relationships. Our new showroom is starting to take shape, and we plan on LOTS of 'hands-on' demos for those of you with itchy trigger fingers!

We'll do our best to price match, but in a 'Race to the Bottom', everyone is a loser, including you, the buyer; so don't expect that we'll simply bottom-feed for Market Share. BHE doesn't roll like that.

But you can expect that we'll do our best; both in pricing and service to bring Southern California the best these lines can offer.

Welcome to the Fuzzy Days, that odd period between Christmas and New Years', where work gets done but by whom, no one really knows as everyone is either munching on holiday sweets, drinkin' at the waterhole or daydreaming online...

Well, we're having none of that here at BHE; we're solid, Made In America types, which means we work even dang harder this time of the year, since we have so much freer time (see above - some of y'all need to start buying stuff, dangit! Put that nog n' brandy and that snickerdoodle down and click!!) To that end, your esteemed persnickety primate is whacking away at the wireless keyboard to bring you some insight into something you may have not seen yet or haven't ahd a chance to really peruse: the Chauvet SlimPar Family!

The SlimPars are such a great idea, you wonder why it took so long for someone to think of it - well, like any new technology, the LED is now starting to really hit it's stride as R&D in the US (from Lighting companies such as Chauvet) are pressing Chinese manufacturers to be more inventive. We don't know who came to who, or who might have started the 'puck' trend, but we do know that the Chauvet SlimPars are effective, value priced, and slick as all get out!

The SlimPar 38 is a nice little Par 38 puck that delivers a good, strong beam; the spot is bright, and a bit fuzzy at the edges, for a soft impact. Small, strart-up DJ's or small lighting needs are the calling card for the SlimPar 38's. The middle brother, the SlimPar 56 is just as good as it's little brother, but has a much longer throw as well as the larger radius spot and is BRIGHT. Perfect for mid-market DJ's or restaurants/clubs needing low profile lighting. For those who need the full power of a Par 64, the SlimPar 64 can't be beat - lightweight, powerful, and 1/4 the size of a traditional Par can, the 64 is the number once choice for large productions  (like weddings) that use a lot of uplighting -  putting 40 of these in a van or small truck? Child's play!

Aside from the awesome form-factor, the Chauvet SlimPars have very little power draw (a plus for hotels, ballrooms, rental houses, &c that plan on permanent installations) and generate ZERO heat - small venues won't have to worry about heat build up in the room. Considerably less expensive than ColoRADO Battens or Mega Bars, while they may not cover the same area in terms of wash uplighting, they are easily serviceable as steppingstones to the aforementioned.

Ah, jeez, we know - but we have been busy helping (some of) you buy stuff and we just haven't made or found the time- but look! Here's a bit of previously unused time found deep in the depths of a road case, a bit natty and weathered, but good enough nonetheless, so let us venture forward.

Today, up for review (an easy task since it is such a nice product!) is the American DJ MICRO GALAXIAN.

The number one question we get is, 'Is  there a laser that's under $300 that's worth something?' - up to now, that has been a question asked most prodigiously in tired and weary tones, since the questioner knows all too well the standard reply: NO.

Now, however, a new entrant from a distinguished and track-record worthy company, has unearthed a beauty of a bargain in the Micro Galaxian! Small, portable, easy to use, and bound to please any party (within reason) the MG has everything one could ask for in a cute (yes, it's cute!) little package. Red and green lasers shoot out of it in a nice evolving pattern; it can speed up enough to satisfy even the most twitchy dancers, and the starfield effect it can deliver is nothing short of stunning! Especially when one considers the cost and the size of the laser!

The lasers are extremely bright (10 miliwatts! Which, of course, is apropos of nothing, unless you're well versed in watts and lumens) and as you can see in the video are so impactful as to seem as if the laser effect was overlaid onto the video, instead of being inside the video!

But please; remember that it is only $99.99 (Minimum Advertised Price) - so, it has limited features and functionality - but the one feature that is most important for the Mobile DJ is the Sound Active feature. As well as the 'infrared' remote.

That last bit caused a bit of healthy (but distressingly circular) debate at Blue Haze: the listing on ADJ's site (as well as the box itself) state that it is an INFRARED remote - however, the remote itself has an antenna! So, it's undoubtedly a last minute change on the part of the manufacturer to confuse you and take your money while your are not watching - ha!
No, it's obviously a WIRELESS remote, with functions we were not immediately able to discern as of the time of writing this (or listened about at the time of the demo, since we were so overtaken by the effect), so it will have to remain a mystery (or you can check ADJ's website - please yourself).

Available in VERY limited quantities prior to the holidays - we did not expect that American DJ would have stock (neither, we suspect did ADJ, but there you have it) and were quite lucky to get our hands on them - restock is not expected until late December, early January.
